Competences
What are competences?
Here you can find a simple model for the definition of competences:
Competences are a product of Skills, Knowledge, Ambition, Talent, Experience - S*K*A*T*E = Competence
The SKATE-Modell was developed by Dr. Claas Triebel and is based on the factors of the so-called SKATE competence.
The area "Skills" evaluates your independence and your abilities in relation to practical things. The main focus is on how well you master situations without guidance or whether you are able to pass on your skills to others or enable them to do so.
The main issue here is knowledge. How much knowledge do you have in your field and how confident are you in applying your knowledge?
Two particularly important factors are the motivation and ambition behind what you do. These contribute significantly to your success and are therefore also one of the core competences you should have as a founder.
Even if this point will cause some people to wonder, your talent plays a big role. Your talents help you to be better than others in certain situations or matters or to do things more easily.
Your experiences shape you. Accordingly, this factor is an important cornerstone for your further development and, above all, your starting position. If you already have a lot of experience, this can be an advantage and make it easier for you to start your own business.
