Blended learning
Blended learning, also known as technology-mediated instruction, web-enhanced instruction, or mixed-mode instruction, is an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with physical place-based classroom methods.
Blended learning scenarios are the central element of the training. The fast developing technology has created new possibilities for working and learning or rather teaching.
Here are some helpful Blended Learning tools:
It requires that you keep your organisational framework simple and small. Use familiar technique and tools; use learning content already taught, do not change everything at once.
Your learning objective and learning content requires detailed planning. Didactic concept (learning objectives -> learning content ->learning forms) ; detailed conception of synchronous communication; create learning objectives in the self-learning phase.
Your target group needs to be cared for as much as needed. Look at concept of assistance; check whether they are under- / overloaded; look at the type of learning used; and check if the learning content is known.
Your role as a trainer in vocational education is to be transparent, check learning, the process and become facilitators. It is better to communicate too much and too often; better to instruct too much at first ; give basic learning structure – the link between the different forms of learning and give security.
Double check you technology. Hardware: Computer, internet connection, headset, webcam; webinar software and collaboration tool and the LMS (Learning management system) handling. „Never change a running system“
